Review: Pumpaloons

Pumpaloons

I love it when we get a request to review something which I know H will enjoy. The fact that he had been saying since pre Christmas that he wanted the Pumpaloons game from Drumond Park each time he saw the advert on Nick Jr was a sure sign he’d be in his elements.

Pumpaloons is a game aimed at ages 4+ which involves two air fillable Pumpaloons (Spottyloon and Stripeyloon), two pumps and a frantic race against each other to see who can blow their figure up the quickest.

Straight out of the box H was able to set the equipment up using the extremely simple instructions of which our excitable four year old was able to follow with ease. The good thing about this was that it actually comes with two sets of instructions which I thought was a great idea meaning that either both children can have a set each or in our case, H could have a set and Daddy could “supervise” using the second set.

Although there is a very simple aim to the game, this didn’t impact on the amount of fun we had playing it. We went for the straight foot pump race, which Daddy won obviously ūüėČ but following this, it was agreed Daddy had to use different methods to pump up his Stripeyloon for instance my peachy bum or and elbow.

As it was a gorgeous day, we played this in the garden and although there was a slight breeze, there is no worry of the Pumpaloons blowing away thanks to their weight filled bottoms which also help them to stand when fully filled.

Another twist to the game involved setting up an obstacle course in the garden before the final task was to fill the Pumpaloon to the top before being crowned the winner, there really was no end to the different types of games you can use these figures for.

Finally after being well and truly pumped out for the evening, H and I gave Spotty and Stripey one last fill before sealing the air vent using their attached caps. This then allowed us to double our team to four and move onto using them as pretend characters in a little game of Cafes, Tills and Delivery drivers.

Pumpaloons

I can honestly save we weren’t disappointed with the Pumpaloons and the fun to be had with them, I can see further competitions throughout the summer involving Spotty and Stripey and a rather competitive Daddy and H.

NB: H and I were sent the above game in exchange for an honest review and all opinions are that of H and I.
