New Year New Me: I joined a Gym!!

So, its been nearly a week since I joined a gym in the quest of getting fit so I just wanted to report in with how I’m getting on….

After looking at several gyms within the area, I went for Pure Gym. Pure offer a competitive price with the added bonus of being open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, free classes and no tied in contract. My Pure Gym (Stoke on Trent North) is currently offering £17.99. What drew me to this place is its no fuss attitude, the ability to check online exactly how many people were currently at the gym, handy as there is nothing worse than turning up to find all the machines you want to use are taken. The also have an iPhone app which allows you to book classes, check out how to use equipment and also see video’s of them in action. The simple online sign up process means that once complete you are issued with an individual pin code which you use to enter the building and changing rooms accordingly. The fact that you don’t need to take an induction if your familiar with gym’s too means I could get stuck straight in.

PureGym How Many

My first visit came last Tuesday (early morning) and I must say I really enjoyed it, there was something satisfying about finally getting back into a gym and starting my New Year, New Me quest. I also have to admit, I’m not sure I was extremely productive, although 30 minutes on a treadmill and a further 5 on a rower certainly got this new year chubby back into the zone. The gym itself was extremely quiet (I know this as I checked before hand on the website) so it meant I didn’t feel like I was out of place and allowed me to settle in. Over the space of the week, I visited a further two times, which I thing is quite good for a first week.

I’m currently in the process of looking at how I can now “Tech” up my gym / weight loss experience so expect a few reviews coming soon….

I plan on doing an official weigh in this week and feel the need to publish it as it will help to visualise my goals further.

If your doing a new year resolution, how are you getting on, are you sticking to it? Let me know in the comments below….
