Coming soon in 2016 with Netflix #StreamTeam
Whilst some superstitious people were busy crying into their milk this Blue Monday… Netflix were busy giving us the heads up for when some of our favourite shows, and of course some exciting new ones are coming in 2016.
If like me you fall victim to binge watching entire seasons, or even worst still, series within weeks of them being released onto our favourite and world’s leading Internet TV network, you’ll currently be wondering when you’ll next have the opportunity to forget about your recent commitment to not binge on such addictive shows again and let the enjoyment last longer than several days.
As you’d expect with Netflix, following their recent announcement this month to expand their services to over 130 new countries, this year is all about premiering shows globally and not just initially for the benefit their American subscribers.
Being part of the Netflix #Streamteam, I’ve been given a list of shows to watch out for in 2016 and I’ve highlighted some below which I’m personally looking forward to…
Marvel’s Jessica Jones
If like me you’re a fan of all things Marvel / superheroes, then you will have no doubtedly checked out this series based upon ex Super Hero Jessica Jones and her quest to rebuild her life as a private investigator. This clever and suspenseful drama is a must watch. Although I can’t bring you a date for this one just yet, Netflix has confirmed that it will return for a second season which is fantastic news.
Orange is the New Black
Yes! My favourite announcement of them all is that OITNB returns for its fourth season with more from the ladies of Litchfield (In the US not the midlands obvs). This returns on Friday June 17th and is one which is most definitely pencilled in for some annual leave from the day job, close the curtains, put the kids in nursery/school and get ready to binge…..
The new drama series consists of eight, one hour long episodes based around a young boy who vanishes into thin air where his family, friends and local police search for answers and are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top secret experiments, supernatural forces and one very strange girl…. This one comes to Netflix on Friday 15th July.
Coinciding with Valentines Day (ooo, good reminder to start looking for gifts now) comes an everyday take on the modern day relationship which follows nice guy Gus and brazen wild-child Mickey a the navigate the highs and lows of all things love, intimacy, commitment and all the other things they try to avoid 😉 This 10 part series premiers Friday February 19 2016…. Excuse for a Netflix and chill night this year perhaps 😉
House of Cards
Another one of my must watch / faves on Netflix. I recently watched the previous three seasons in just shy of three weeks and was left waiting for the next series to start. Well wait no longer as season four is set for Friday 4th March 2016.
Grace and Frankie
This is one I’ve yet to see but have already added it to my Netflix Watch List. Grace and Frankie is about two women who’s husbands (played by Martin Sheen and and Sam Waterston) reveal they are gay and leave them… for each other. Described as a comic which produces laughter, tears and plenty of mood enhancers along the way, its second series premiers on Friday May 6th 2016.
One for little ones here which is a vocabulary show bought to you by The Jim Henson company which follows adorable baby animals as they sing, dance and play. The show invites youngest viewers to help teach the baby animals new words, learn these new words themselves, and even celebrate these achievements with a “Word Party!” This premiers just in time for the summer, Friday 3rd June.
