We have been so fortunate to be part of the LEGO Family for nearly two years now and being a massive LEGO fans, we were recently sent a big
Although the trains are pretty rapid down from sunny Stoke on Trent to the capital, they aren’t so frequent at the weekends so it did mean leaving the OneDadOneBlog HQ at 6:30am however if I’m honest I didn’t get much sleep the night before as I was too excited. I suspect H was too as he never stopped talking from waking up at 6am until we got to the station for our 7:12am train.
A lovely quiet train down (compared to the weekday trains) meant we had perfect seats with a table to ourselves and a plug too meaning I could tweet and instgram my excitement as well as catching up with my blogging chums, Danielle (BlogByBaby) and Emma (MeTheManAndTheKids) who were also on their way down in similar fashion to our recent special preview of the LEGO London store in November last year. H was excited to meet up with his friend Olly again (Emma’s little one) and to go with him to be one of the first to watch the LEGO Batman Movie.
Although the film was later in the morning, we were invited to arrive a little earlier to enjoy the “fun in the foyer” and boy was it fun!?! Having been whisked onto the
red Yellow carpet (it is LEGO after all) we entered into the Cineworld Empire in Leicester Square to find all kinds of LEGO fun inside.
There were photo opportunities, both with Batman, Robin and Batgirl as well as green screen photo opportunities which superimposed you onto a LEGO Batman Movie scene.
There were food and drinks galore with choices of breakfast pastries or for those which had already been up for it to technically be lunch already (like us) plenty of LEGO Biscuits and fruit to keep our energy levels up, not that we needed it though, cheapest augmentin online this foyer was a LEGO lovers paradise…
With banks of super talented artists ready to charactature your head onto the body of either Batman or Batgirl, this was one unique chance I couldn’t pass up on. I love the result and it definitely means I am an official LEGO Batman replacement should the main man decide its not for him or needs a stand in.
Throw into that, LEGO Build stations (where H and Olly spent majority of their time), face painting, circus fun inside the cinema and chances to play the LEGO Batman Movie Dimensions there were plenty to get our “Bat-juices” flowing.
It was time for the main event, the film and whilst I don’t want to tell you about it at the moment for fear of spoiling it for you, I can say that not only is it even better than the fantastic LEGO Movie before, it blows many of films out the park and is a must see. For those parents (not LEGO / Batman fans) who are taking their little LEGO fans to see it, fear not as I think you’ll love it just as much too. Oh and p.s. You don’t need a child to see it with you either, this film is suitable for all.
After the film had finished we were also invited to attend a private party at Planet Hollywood in the Bond Room which had conveniently been turned into the LEGO Batman Movie Room with fantastic displays of all the new LEGO Batman Movie sets as well as some fantastic items such as outfits, movie posters, alarm clocks, books and more.
Having enjoyed a lovely three course meal, another personal Meet and Greet with LEGO Batman himself, a chance to swap our favourite parts of the film with fellow bloggers and celebrities alike and a chance for the children of said bloggers, celebrities and VIPs to do the same, it was time to say our thanks and goodbyes and head home, but not before being given a super cool goody bag to enjoy and remember what H has called his BEST DAY EVER!!!
Until next time
NB: Although we were invited to attend the LEGO Batman Movie premiere and VIP after movie meal, provided with a goody bag, we were under no obligation to write this post, I chose to do so as I had an awesome day.
