A LEGO guide to Valentines Day Gift Ideas
So, If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably just realised that Valentines Day is just around the corner, Sunday 14th February, just in case you didn’t. Now you’ll be thinking my next thought… crap! wha can I get them for the one day of the year Rose prices, chocolates, restaurants and such like quadruple their prices and cash in on poor helpless individuals worried about upsetting the other half (can’t you guess I’m a massive fan).
Well rather than do a typical Valentines post with images direct from a press release or cut and paste using google / free images, we’ve done one in the style of mine and H’s love for LEGO…
Meet Shaggy & Thelma (Yes from Scooby Doo), S&T have been together for several years now and this year (for some strange reason) have decided to buy each other a gift for Valentines Day. The only problem is both of them are unsure what to get… Well fear not, here’s some ideas to ensure everyones a winner on February 14th (including the retailers)…
1. A race / fast car experience
If your loved one has a taste for the fast or luxury cars in life, why not treat them to a race day and watch them speed round a race track to their hearts content… TIP: Just make sure they have their life insurance in order before they go 😉
2. A Night away in a hotel
Fed up with the kids bursting into the bedroom, just as you have other ideas… 😉 Well why not arrange a family member to look after the little ones whilst you and your partner sneak away to a hotel for the night… Don’t forget to pack your best pants tho 😉
3. A Shopping day out
If you think your other half is looking a little dowdy in the clothing department, why not use this opportunity to enforce a shopping spree on them but dress it up as a “Valentines present” Winner Winner! You can thank me later everyone…
4. A new set of wheels
Now I’m not suggesting that we all have the money for a new car, but if you do, why not splash out and trade in that little old banger with those fond “pre-child” stains in the back seat for something which can fit even more kids into… on second thoughts, get a 3 door mini and nip that one in the bud.
5. Flowers and Chocolates
From one extreme to the next, nothing says I love you (and can’t be arsed shopping for Valentines gifts) more than a bunch of flowers and a slab of chocolate from your local Asda. Go on, you know you were going to…
6. A trip to the fair
This is a double winner surely, who doesn’t like going to a seaside resort whereby you can go on the fair, eat candy floss and spend £30 trying to win a £3 teddy on the claw machines.
7. Feeding Sharks
Take a visit to your local aquarium whereby if you really
HATE love your partner that much, why not arrange for them to swim with Sharks. Another option could be to take the mother-in-law along and maybe chuck her in for free too 😉
8. Buy Something Personalised
Personalised is all the rage (or so I’m hinted to) at the moment so why not jump on board this sure fire way of impressing your loved one… with a personalised “His and Her” Car sticker… classy in my honest opinion, and retro too 🙂
9. Spice It Up
Why not “spice” things up this year and spend some money helping to re-enact the book which many women (and more men than you think 😉 ) enjoyed reading, 50 shades of Grey. My only warning… maybe don’t go for a plunger 🙂
10. The Force is Strong
If you are really struggling, just buy them a lightsaber, in fact, buy them a lightsaber anyway, and if they don’t want it, forward it to me at OneDadOneBlog…. 🙂
There’s my top 10 ideas for those
losers romantics who want some ideas for Valentines Day this year… I reckon you’re on to a winner there, but if not…. feed them to the sharks, dinosaurs or any other savage beast….
or you could just find yourself another partner 🙂
Personally I just want the Millennium Falcon / Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters LEGO sets or something such that I can spend several days building to my hearts content. If you are interested in any of the sets used in the above pictures, I’ve handily created the list below for you (again you can thank me later)
Good luck and feel free to let me know if any of my presents are used and well received, don’t tell me if they aren’t though as I don’t want the blame on my shoulders…
